Diablo 4 Season 10 has seen an overall bump in difficulty thanks to the addition of Chaos Rifts and a reworked Infernal Hordes mode featuring Chaos Waves. While these features give Diablo 4 Season 10 players a greater challenge, one aspect of the game has had its difficulty dialed down to a much more balanced level. Uber Lilith is now less daunting of a boss than before, but players should still prepare for her appropriately before attempting a battle.
In past Diablo 4 seasons, Uber Lilith served as the ultimate challenge for players looking to put their build to the test. Often cited as the hardest boss in the game, Uber Lilith forces players to dodge a variety of AoE wave attacks while navigating the Blood Blisters and Blood Orbs she spawns, which can cause instant death if players aren’t able to properly position themselves to avoid them. To make matters worse, Uber Lilith has two phases with a period of invulnerability while she transitions between them, meaning players couldn’t simply rush down the boss and defeat her before she could trigger any of her most devastating attacks. However, this has changed in Season 10, but still comes with a caveat players will need to be aware of.
Uber Lilith is worth the effort to defeat, since she rewards players with a guaranteed Resplendent Spark, which can be used to craft Mythic gear.
Diablo 4's Changes to Bosses Makes Uber Lilith Manageable in Season 10
Players Tackling Uber Lilith Should Plan to Maximize Resistances
Thankfully, players tackling Uber Lilith in Diablo 4 Season 10 have ways of circumventing her most frustrating mechanics. One change that makes this fight a lot easier is the reduction to her AoE attack damage, which makes them survivable if players can maximize their damage resistance. Having the maximum amount of Armor, which caps at 1,000, and maximum Elemental Resistance, which can be achieved through a combination of gear affixes, Paragon Board nodes, and Incense, allows players to avoid being one-shot by these attacks even if they are out of position.
Vessel of Hatred owners can also increase their Resistance with Raheir as their hired Mercenary by investing in the Raheir’s Aegis skill for a 15% blanket increase to all Elemental Resistances.
Uber Lilith's Invulnerability Phase Can Be Avoided if Players Are Fast Enough
The most welcome change in Diablo 4 Season 10 applies to all Lair Bosses as well as Uber Lilith, which removes the mandatory invulnerability phase from fights if players can reduce the boss’s health to zero within 10 seconds. This change rewards players who invest in optimizing their build’s DPS, removing the unnecessary punishment of multiple phase fights with invulnerability periods in between each phase. As a result, players can defeat Uber Lilith without having to worry about her most frustrating mechanics if they can maximize the damage their build is able to deal, allowing the boss to serve as a DPS check in its purest form.
Diablo 4 Players Who Can't Beat Uber Lilith Fast Enough Still Have to Deal with Her Worst Attacks
An obvious catch with these changes is that players who aren’t able to defeat Uber Lilith within the first 10 seconds of the fight will have to deal with the boss’s full arsenal of attacks, including the ones that cause instant death. This is where having maxed Elemental Resistances becomes crucial; it lessens the threat of the boss fight should the player fail to drain her health before the second phase kicks in. Players testing their Season 10 build against Uber Lilith will want to come prepared with Resistance-enhancing items like Incense in the event that their build isn’t yet up to par, and they have to face the full force of the Daughter of Hatred.
In general, more players should be able to defeat Uber Lilith in Diablo 4 Season 10, and the task is far less daunting than ever before. These changes make Uber Lilith a tough-but-fair boss fight, rather than a seemingly impossible headache. Genuine challenges make Diablo 4 more rewarding when players can overcome them, and the Season of Infernal Chaos shows that the game is headed in the right direction in this regard.
